We continue our series of highlighting a new wave of personnel – young and dynamic trailblazers who have joined the company in recent years, determined to make a difference and shoulder the responsibility of bringing Denyo to even greater heights.
In this week’s interview, we put the attention back on our Service Support Team, who handles equipment servicing, testing and hands-on support for our engineering department. Sai Nyi, our resilient Service Technician, shares his perspectives on Denyo.
It has been two years since I’ve joined the Denyo team. Even though two years aren’t the longest of time, but I’ve found and formed a significant bond with my fellow colleagues which I believe will last forever.
Despite the differences in job scope of the various departments within, we cooperate together, with our motivation and goals all aligned. This is my impression of Denyo so far – a family-like organisation.
Before joining Denyo United Machinery, I was in a machinery company that deals with power generator back in my home country, Myanmar. But thanks to that, I’m exposed to all the big players in this field, and Denyo is definitely the undisputed champion in this industry.
So when I heard of this job opening in Singapore, immediately I know it’s a dream come true – as such opportunity only knocks once; I grabbed it with no second thoughts.
Even with my past experiences dealing with power equipment such as generators and welders, it was a total eye-opener to learn the electrical systems and technical intricacies of a Denyo machine. Through my superiors’ selfless teaching, I learnt not only hands-on control, but also in-depth electrical theories; to better understand the complexities of the equipment, and to rectify the issue correctly depending on the situation.
Denyo regularly support us with development training programs to keep our skills relevant in a rapidly changing world, and I am honoured to be sent to Denyo Japan for job training alongside with my senior when I am less than two years with the company. My time spent here has expansively broadened my horizon and skills, which I believe will open up to greater opportunities in the near future.
Denyo being a big organisation, I’m impressed by how it managed to concoct a working environment that truly depicts work-life balance, as they often emphasise “people are a company’s greatest asset.”
It is never all work and no play at Denyo. The company often host festive parties, company leisure trips with fun and games to take care of employees’ physical, mental and emotional well-being. Working here in Denyo has never seemed like a chore and it is really admirable.
Most fond and memorable has to be the recent company trip to Hokkaido. I don’t always get the luxury to travel abroad, moreover to Japan, and so I truly appreciate this given opportunity for me to visit different foreign countries.
To be honest, that trip has been nothing less than amazing. It was an emotional experience as we share our stories – strengthening bond and trust amongst each other’s.
I enjoy my job, and am fairly certain that there will be opportunities for progression in my career. I envision myself attaining more profound knowledge, skills and valuable experience to ensure readiness to take on more diverse roles and responsibilities with Denyo when the right time comes.
